Northern Dance Academy Uniform  

 At Northern Dance Academy we ask our students to follow uniform guidelines to ensure you are comfortable and get the most out of your classes. Please look at the uniform specifications below. To enquire about classes for either your child or yourself please call us on 07917 176 418. 

Northern Dance Academy are based in York and are conveniently located for those living in the surrounding areas of York.

All uniforms for dance classes can be bought from the Fancy Dance Shop on Micklegate where you will receive 10% discount.

  ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet Uniform

 

ISTD Pre-Primary & ISTD Primary Ballet

Girls:   ISTD Aqua Skirted leotard, pink ballet shoes with elastic, pink ballet socks. (Aqua wrap cardigan optional).

Boys:  White short sleeve leotard, black cotton shorts, white socks, white ballet shoes.

 

ISTD Grade 1 Ballet

Girls:  ISTD Bluebell leotard with ruche & matching leotard belt, pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes with elastic.

           (Bluebell blue wrap cardigan optional).

Boys: White short sleeve leotard, black cotton shorts, white socks, white ballet shoes.

 

ISTD Grade 2 Ballet & ISTD Grade 3 Ballet


Girls:  ISTD Aqua leotard with ruche & matching leotard belt, pink convertible ballet tights, pink ballet shoes with ribbons.

            ISTD Grade 3 Ballet split soled pink ballet shoes. (Aqua wrap cardigan optional).

Boys:  White short sleeve leotard, black leggings, (black elastic ballet belt), white socks, white ballet shoes.

   

ISTD Grade 4 Ballet

Girls:   ISTD Cornflower leotard with ruche & matching leotard belt, pink convertible ballet tights, pink split soled ballet shoes with ribbons.       

            (Cornflower wrap cardigan optional).

Boys:  White short sleeve leotard, black leggings, (black elastic ballet belt), white socks, white ballet shoes.

   

ISTD Grade 5 Ballet & ISTD Grade 6 Ballet

Girls:   Black camisole leotard with ruche & matching elastic ballet belt, pink convertible ballet tights, pink split soled ballet shoes with ribbons.

            ISTD Grade 6 Ballet – Pointe shoes.

Boys:  White short sleeve leotard, black leggings (black elastic ballet belt), white socks, white ballet shoes.

 

ISTD Intermediate Ballet, ISTD Advanced 1 & Advanced 2 Ballet

Girls:   Burgundy camisole leotard with ruche & elastic ballet belt, pink convertible ballet tights, pink split soled ballet shoes with ribbons. Pointe shoes.

Boys:  White short sleeve leotard, black leggings (black elastic ballet belt), white socks, white ballet shoes.

 

 

ISTD Tap Uniform

 

ISTD Primary Tap, Grade 1 Tap & Grade 2 Tap

 

Girls:   Navy blue Roch Valley Jeanette leotard, black Nylon stirrup leggings (worn over the leotard), Black socks,

            Black Tap shoes with heel and toe taps.

 


Contemporary Class Uniform

 

Junior Contemporary (Age 6 -10 years)

 

Girls:   Any style & colour leotard, Black footless tights.

Boys:   As above but with black leggings or shorts. Unitard can also be worn.

 

Youth Contemporary (Age 11 – 15 years)

 

Girls:   Any style & colour leotard, Black footless tights. Black shorts can be worn over tights.

Boys:   As above but with black leggings or shorts. Unitard can also be worn.

Uniform for Adult Dance Classes

For the Adult Dance classes at Northern Dance Academy, there is no set uniform for classes. We ask adult students to wear appropriate clothing to dance classes and can move easily in. For adults attending Ballet classes we recommend wearing split soled ballet shoes and for those students attending the Adult Tap classes, then Tap shoes with a heel and toe tap shoes are required.
